++ Breaking ++ SNP Defection
Sunday, 31 January 2010
Word reaches me of a story that could really stick it to the SNP as an elected representative is planning to defect to Labour having felt so disillusioned with the Nationalists.
I'm afraid I can't say anymore at the moment but I would thoroughly recommend that everyone reads the papers tomorrow morning!

I really hope you have the parties round the wrong way there. Surely the "elected representative" is a councillor? Or a student union leader or something?
I can't think of an MSP or MP who would step across to the other side.
It must be a heartbroken individual gutted that there is no longer any chance with Nicola Sturgeon
If it was above councillor, he'd have said so, so not the biggest story in the world, but never goingh to be a good thiing for SNP.
Wouldn't be so excited if I was you - after all remember the Glasgow Cllr - Deans was it -who was supposed to defect to labour only labour hadn't really checked his character and the SNP were glad to be rid of him.
Hope you've done the background checks on this one - wouldn't want any dodgy behaviour ruining your day would you.
This is going to be big, isn't it? I hear this will be a big story
Think you might be disapointed
If the defector is a scunner is it Salmond?
Dear Yousuf

I always read the horoscopes, the tv page and the cartoons.
Everything else can wait.

If any SNP member is seriously thinking about joining labour then good riddance.
Bet's on tomorrow being either (a) what happened to the story or (b) who he/she?
Cllr in North Lanarkshire apparently.
John McNamee, SNP councillor for Blantyre. No doubt his character will be assassinated by the SNP - as always happens to defectors!
Not to steal your thunder Yousuf, but it's here

The Councillor's reasons for leaving the SNP are most interesting and instructive....

Had to laugh at the "rising star" description in the Herald. The reailty is he was considered a bit of a buffoon.
I think its a case where ego doesnt allow a group to take proper action against a member who has committeed a number of transgressions.
As for the stuff about Derek Mackay thats just a complete lie.
Labour are welcome to him.
